The Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) project officer for Be Secure Feel Secure (BSFS), Ms. Camille Degryse, visited the city of Piraeus between the 7th and 8th December 2022 in order to assess the progress of the BSFS project and the implemented spatial interventions.
The first day, the Piraeus project partners hosted a consortium meeting in the emblematic Municipal Council room in the City Hall, where all partners presented the project’s progress and discussed with Ms. Degryse the project’s achievements, challenges, sustainability and scaling up opportunities just a few months before its finalization.
On the second day, a series of field visits were organised in order to showcase some of the security schemes implemented in the BSFS intervention areas.
The interventions that were shown included: Playgrounds; Schools; Piraeus Victim Support Unit; the SOC of Piraeus, – where the CURiM platform is displayed – and the advanced patrol vehicles that were acquired within the BSFS project.
Finally, the day closed with a mini tour in Piraeus’ main landmarks and a surprise visit to the under-construction Piraeus Tower.
