A significant achievement and recognition were bestowed upon the European program of the Municipality of Piraeus, “Be Secure Feel Secure” (BSFS), at Greece’s most prestigious Local Governance Awards event, known as the “OTA Awards”. The program was acknowledged for its innovative and holistic approach to urban security in the city of Piraeus.
The BeSecure-FeelSecure project made a remarkable mark by clinching two awards, winning the 1st Prize in the category of “Civil Protection & Safety” for its comprehensive project, “BeSecure-FeelSecure: Implementation of a Holistic Approach to Urban Security in the Municipality of Piraeus,” and securing the 2nd Prize in the “Culture/Tourism/Sports” category for its innovative digital initiative, the “Minecraft Game in Piraeus.”
The awards were received by Ms. Andriana Zarakeli, Head of European Programs at the Municipality of Piraeus and Deputy Mayor of Extroversion, Tourism, and European Programs.
The impressive award ceremony for the “OTA Awards 2019-2023” took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 20th, at the Zappeion Megaron, in the presence of mayors and regional governors from all over Greece.
Project partners expressed their pride in the recognition of their efforts and emphasized that these awards serve as further motivation to continue their endeavors in developing innovative and creative strategies to improve urban security and enhance the sense of security among citizens.
